Bio

Daniel has been a venture capitalist for over fifteen years, investing broadly in technology, media, and telecom (TMT) companies. He founded Luminari Capital in ​2013 to focus on investing in the innovation and disruption occurring globally throughout the $500B+ video ecosystem. Daniel’s investments in the video ecosystem include 1Mainstream (acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc.), DanceOn, Elemental Technologies (acquired by Amazon.com, Inc.), fuboTV, Fuisz Media, Kaltura, Matterport, MikMak, Mino Monsters, MOVL (acquired by Samsung), Naritiv, Plumzi, PlutoTV, Roku, Streamable, StreamNation, Sandforce (acquired by LSI Logic), Tapp Media, TheAthletic, Thirty Labs, and Vidyo. Prior to founding Luminari Capital, Daniel was a Partner with Globespan Capital Partners in the firm’s Palo Alto office. Before joining Globespan, Daniel was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director at Harris & Harris Group, Inc., a publicly held venture capital company (NASDAQ:TINY). Earlier in his career, Daniel worked for Sevin Rosen Funds and Redpoint Ventures, and he also previously held engineering, marketing and strategic investment positions with Intel Corporation. ​ ​Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA, where he was an Anderson Venture Fellow.
