Since 2003, Mr. Fichtner has been responsible for helping analyze, underwrite and monitor Markpoint's portfolio investments. For over 15 years, Mr. Fichtner has been involved in the capital structure, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, management and operations for both publicly traded and private companies. Mr. Fichtner began his financial career on Wall Street in 1987. Moving to New York after graduate school, he joined Dillon, Read and Co. As part of the capital markets group, he was a key member of the team which participated in or led the underwriting of over 80 initial public offerings. In this capacity, Mr. Fichtner helped structure debt and equity financings for some of the largest and most respected companies in the world. While at Dillon, Read he gained extensive experience in securities markets, capital structure, and corporate finance. Upon moving back to Dallas, Mr. Fichtner joined NationsBank in their advisory services group where he coordinated the settlement of securities trades for both individual and institutional trust accounts. Mr. Fichtner left NationsBank to join DuPont in 1996 to become the accounting manager of the south central division. At DuPont, Mr. Fichtner gained valuable management and corporate tax experience. In 1999, Mr. Fichtner joined 1st Global Inc., an NASD member broker dealer, as manager of their fee-based asset management department. He held NASD Series 7 and Series 24 licenses. While at 1st Global, he managed a group of six individuals, and participated with the management team in strategic planning, budgeting, and staff training. He was responsible for revamping fee-based operations, automating the reporting process, and growing assets under management from $225 million to over $1 billion in just over three years. Mr. Fichtner received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1984, and his Master of Business Administration, Finance and Investments, from The George Washington University in 1987.
