Bio

Dr Ann Robinson was a founding director of Almeida Capital. She has an unparalleled network of relationships in the European pension funds industry having previously been head of the UK National Association of Pension Funds. Ann has over 25 years experience in private equity, pensions and policy. Before joining Almeida, Ann was a senior member of the Myners team, which was commissioned by the UK Government to review the role of investment institutions in the UK and particularly to address private equity as an asset class. As Director General of the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) from 1995 to 2000 Ann was responsible for protecting and promoting the interests of UK pension funds which collectively manage total assets in excess of £800 billion. Prior to the NAPF, Ann was Head of the Policy Unit at the Institute of Directors. Ann was previously a lecturer in politics at leading academic institutions in the UK including the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Durham. Ann has an MA and PhD in political science from McGill University and an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
