Anup Jacob

Bio

Anup Jacob is a Founding Partner of Virgin Green Fund and a member of its Investment Committee. Anup is an accomplished investor having invested over $350 million in the sector over the past 10 years. Prior to VGF, Anup was an investment professional with TPG and a partner in TPG’s Aqua Fund, which focused on growth capital investments in the water and renewable energy sectors. Prior to joining TPG, Anup worked in the Investment Banking and Merchant Banking divisions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (prior to its merger with CSFB) in New York and India. While at DLJ, Anup helped source and negotiate transactions for the US and Asia Merchant Banking practice. In the Investment Banking division, he focused on advising clients in the Global Power and Utilities group. The Group focused on energy and water companies executing transactions in public and private finance, M&A, and divestitures in the deregulated US market. He previously served on the board of Jain Irrigation Systems. He has also served as a CFO of various portfolio companies and has chaired several audit and strategic committees. Anup is involved in several children’s charities and environmental charities in India and the US and is a national judge for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year for Energy and Mining Awards. Anup is a graduate of the University of Chicago.
