Brian D Owen

Bio

Brian D. Owen has more than 25 years of senior operating experience in a wide range of technology companies, with a particular focus on enterprise software. Prior to joining Masthead Venture Partners, Mr. Owen was President and Chief Executive Officer of Decalog, NV, a venture-backed financial management software company that he successfully merged with SunGard (NYSE: SDS). Mr. Owen was also President and Chief Executive Officer of MapInfo, which he successfully positioned as the dominant worldwide provider of desktop mapping software. During his tenure, Mr. Owen led that Company's IPO. Mr. Owen also held senior management positions with Computer Associates, Oracle Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation. He has been a Director or advisor of iKnowledge, Nuron (sold to Intel) and Raptor Systems. He is also a Director of Centric Software and RuleStream Corporation, and an advisor to Packet Design, Tizor and TripConnect, all current Masthead portfolio companies. Mr. Owen holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BS degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Boston College.
