Bio

Chris Eckerman is a director of Covera Ventures. He joined the group in June 2003. Chris was actively involved with the investments in Metreos (acquired by Cisco) and SNAPin (acquired by Nuance). Currently, he works closely with several portfolio companies including Alert Logic, CoreTrace, iTKO, Innography, and Photobucket. Previously, Chris was business development manager for Yipes Communications, a start-up network services provider of managed end-to-end ethernet solutions. As business development manager, he was engaged in various financial activities including investor relations, fund raising and corporate and business development. Prior to joining Yipes, Chris was a business analyst at Dell Computer. He focused on strategy formation for Internet infrastructure and e-commerce initiatives as well as analysis of investment opportunities for Dell Ventures. He started his career as a financial analyst with the mergers and acquisitions group of SG Cowen Securities Corporation in San Francisco. His experience in the firm included transactions involving domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures in the technology industry. He is a former USA national swim team member and gold medal winner at the World Championships, Pan Pacific Games and World University Games. Chris was also a member of Texas' 1996 NCAA Champion Swimming team. Chris has a BBA in finance and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
