David W Hayes

Bio

Mr. Hayes joined NGP in 1998 and serves as a Managing Director of the NGP funds. He also holds the responsibility as NGP’s Director of Corporate Finance. He concentrates on NGP’s transaction analysis and execution as well as the monitoring of active portfolio companies. In addition, he specializes in transaction support for NGP’s family of portfolio companies, assisting them in accessing the capital markets when external financing is required. Prior to returning to NGP, Mr. Hayes was an Associate with Charlesbank Capital Partners, LLC in the fall of 2000, where he focused on evaluating private equity investment opportunities in the energy and temporary staffing industries and analyzing trends in the leveraged buyout sector. From 1996 to 1998, he was an Analyst with Merrill Lynch’s Energy Investment Banking group in Houston, focusing on merger and acquisition transactions in the exploration and production and pipeline industries. Mr. Hayes received a B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, in 1996 from Rice University where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa scholastic honor society and an M.B.A. in 2002 from Harvard Business School.
