Dermot Crean

Bio

Dermot has more than 20 years’ investment banking experience in private placements, capital markets, restructurings and mergers and acquisitions with a particular focus on private equity throughout this period. He has extensive experience in raising mid-market private equity funds. During his career, Dermot has acted for many leading private equity firms as well as private and public European and US companies. He has been involved with transactions with an aggregate value in excess of €10 billion. Prior to joining Acanthus in 2001, he was a Director of Hawkpoint Partners where he was responsible for building up their private placement business. Before that he worked for Hawkpoint’s predecessor J O Hambro Magan, a highly successful advisory boutique. He began his corporate finance career at Samuel Montagu & Co. where he worked with many of today’s leading private equity firms. Dermot is a Chartered Accountant and qualified with Price Waterhouse in London. He earned his first class honours in Commerce at the National University of Ireland, Cork. Dermot is married with four children.
