Bio

Prior to joining BB&T Capital Partners, Matt worked with SunTrust Equity Partners (STEP), the private equity arm of SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI). During his tenure at STEP, Matt was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing private equity co-investments and fund commitments as a part of SunTrust's $850 million private equity program. Before joining SunTrust, he worked in corporate banking for Wachovia (formerly First Union) where he underwrote leveraged loans to middle market companies. BA in Economics from Bucknell University. MBA with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management. Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
