Gerald Hwasta

Bio

Mr. Hwasta joined Silver Lake in 2007 from Shah Capital Partners and is a Director focused on the investment origination of the firm’s middle market strategy, Silver Lake Sumeru. He has spent his career investing in, financing and operating technology businesses. Prior to Shah Capital, from 2000 to 2003, Mr. Hwasta held management roles with Sun Microsystems, where he led a team that developed network products. Previously, Mr. Hwasta was head of Corporate Development at Cobalt Networks where he led the company’s investment and mergers and acquisitions activity, including its sale to Sun Microsystems. Prior to Cobalt, he worked in the Systems and Semiconductor Investment Banking group at Robertson Stephens. Mr. Hwasta began his career with McDonald & Company (now part of Key Bank) in Cleveland, Ohio in Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Hwasta is a director on the board of AVI-SPL, Inc. He holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
