Greg’s entire legal career has focused on oil and gas industry, with substantial experience relating to the acquisition and development of oil and gas reserves, operations, transaction structuring and financing. Prior to co-founding Blue Tip Energy, Greg worked closely with Rich DiClaudio and The Hillman Company since 1992. Over the last seven years, he teamed with the entire Blue Tip Energy management team to provide comprehensive legal counsel and strategic business advice regarding all aspects of the direct energy investments managed by the group for Hillman. Among Greg’s energy clients are several energy-focused private equity funds. In addition, he has provided extensive acquisition and operational legal counsel with respect to conventional oil and gas and coal-bed methane operations throughout the United States for several other energy clients. Greg has substantial background regarding structuring energy investments and the federal income tax implications associated with energy investment transactions. His background also includes experience in the financing, formation, operation and liquidation of energy joint venture and partnership arrangements. Additionally, Greg has extensive experience in the representation of financial institutions, both domestic and foreign, providing loan production financing and other revolving credit facilities to the extractive industries. He has lectured at the Rocky Mountain Mineral Institute regarding tax and structuring issues relating to unconventional reserves including coalbed methane. Prior to entering private practice, he was a senior tax attorney with Sun Oil Company in Dallas, Texas, and with The Superior Oil Company in Houston, Texas. Greg is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.
