Bio

Vice President in Blackstone Advisory Partners LP, based in London. Since joining Blackstone, has focused on the energy and natural resources sector. Has been involved in the sale of Aquila Inc in a multi-part transaction to Great Plains Energy and Black Hills Corporation; the capital raising effort for Blue Source LLC; the strategic and financial repositioning of Aquila Inc, including Aquila’s sale of several gas and power utilities to Integrys Energy Group, Empire District, and Mid-Kansas Electric Co; the acquisition of Lafarge North America by Lafarge SA; the sale of British Energy’s stake in AmerGen Energy Company LLC to Exelon Corporation; and the restructurings of AES Corporation, Allegheny Energy, NRG Energy and Reliant Resources. Before joining Blackstone in 2004, worked in the energy and power private equity effort at Fortress Investment Group and in the banking group at Lazard Frères, where he advised on a number of mergers and acquisitions and restructuring advisory transactions for energy and power companies. Prior to working in investment banking, Mr Chandra worked at Constellation Power Source, where he was responsible for origination of structured transactions involving energy and environmental commodities.
