Bio

Allan has over forty years of mezzanine investing and commercial lending experience, principally with middle-market companies. He has been with Midwest since 1994. In 1987 Allan founded MNC Capital Corporation, a subsidiary of MNC Financial, Inc. (a $16 billion regional bank holding company headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland and now part of Bank of America), and was responsible for the origination and management of fifteen mezzanine investments. Upon the secondary purchase of the MNC Capital portfolio by Sherry Lane Partners, L.P. in 1991, he became the managing general partner responsible for the realization of its investments. In total Allan spent ten years with a non-bank subsidiary of MNC Financial, Inc. During the initial two years he served as the Chief Credit Officer for its asset-base lending and leasing businesses. He began his career with The Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. in New York and spent ten years as a commercial lender. He presently serves as Director or Board Observer of Hunter's Specialties, Potter Electric Signal and EB Brands. He is the current Chairman of Global Alliance for Africa, a non-profit organization that provides economic support to families and communities in East Africa in order that children orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic may maintain a healthy and productive life. Allan is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with an M.B.A. in Management and Finance and DePauw University with a B.A. in Economics.
