Bio
Over twenty years of operational and strategic experience in telecoms and technology, the last 12 years working for Motorola Inc (NYSE: MOT). In 2003, he established Motorola Ventures International, the $500 million venture capital arm of Motorola. As Managing Director, has invested in over twenty of Europe’s leading venture companies. He also expanded Motorola Ventures outside Europe, building its investment capability in China and India. Was a member of Motorola’s Equity Investment Board, responsible for all Motorola’s global minority equity investments. Prior to his role in Ventures, held senior Strategy & Business Development roles at Motorola Corporate and its Wireless Infrastructure Business Unit. He has extensive experience in building business internationally and in merger, acquisition and alliances. Before Motorola, held senior positions in engineering, marketing and sales in wireless network operators and infrastructure suppliers across Europe. Served on the board of Apertio, prior to their acquisition by Nokia Siemens Networks and Sonaptic prior to their acquisition by Wolfsen Microelectroncis. Received the 2006 Allstars Corporate Venture Award and AlwaysOn Dealmaker of the Year 2007. First degree in engineering from University College Dublin in 1985. MBA with distinction, from Imperial College London in 1993.
