Joseph Esmail

Bio

Mr. Esmail has a proven track record in both direct real estate investment and commercial and residential property development. Since 1980, he has been involved in real estate development projects and property acquisitions with a capitalization in excess of $1.0 billion. Mr. Esmail has been involved in all stages of acquisitions, construction, management and selling of commercial real estate as both a principal and an adviser. Mr. Esmail Co-Chairs the Investment Committee of Berkshire Capital Group. Previously, Mr. Esmail sat on the Board of Directors of CIT Holdings, Ltd - operationally headquartered in London - with primary oversight responsibilities for its New York operations, U.S. investment policies and U.S. strategic initiatives. Further, Mr. Esmail was a co-founding Managing Director of CIT USA, LLC an affiliate of London based CIT Group, plc. During his career, Mr. Esmail was responsible for the ground-up development and construction of over $500 million of office, retail and residential projects nationwide in the U.S. Mr. Esmail's achievements and responsibilities for such projects encompassed site selection, negotiation, design development, construction, marketing and financing. Mr. Esmail holds a civil engineering degree and worked for a major US construction company. Mr. Esmail has also provided advisory services for a regional hotel and casino organization in connection with a recapitalization.
