Bio

Kevin is a Managing Partner and member of the Board of Directors of Craton. His longtime commitment to building awareness of environmental and humanitarian causes and his successful investing in growing companies further enhances Craton’s ability to make meaningful contributions to the cleantech sector. Marrying his passion for environmental issues to his proven success in the investment community, Kevin founded Sustainable Holdings a firm that has partnered with Dimensional Fund Advisors, a global investment firm with $152 billion under management on two public equity funds. Kevin also founded Live Earth in 2007 with former U.S. Vice President, Al Gore. An Emmy-Award winning producer, Kevin conceived and executed a groundbreaking musical event that sought to deliver an urgent yet hopeful call to action on climate change. Kevin has grown Live Earth into a dynamic organization dedicated to the creation of engaging entertainment events and media content aimed at raising awareness for the challenges and solutions associated with climate change. Kevin is founder and chairman of Control Room, one of the world's leading digital music companies. Control Room has worked with artists such as Madonna, Rolling Stones, Beyonce and Elton John and has had strategic relationships with Microsoft, AOL, DirecTV, O2 and Universal Music. Formerly vice chairman of iXL, a global Internet consulting firm, Kevin led the strategic acquisition and organization of 42 Internet design and consulting companies to build a venture with over 3,000 employees, 38 offices worldwide and annual revenues of approximately $400 million (iXL went public in 1999 and reached a market capitalization of $3.5 billion within one year). Previously, in 1995, Kevin founded BoxTop Interactive, a pioneering online entertainment design and marketing solutions company which merged with iXL in 1997. Co-founder of Shelter Capital Partners, a $165 million venture capital fund and digital business incubator, he is currently invested in a dozen companies in the semiconductor, software and convergence sectors. Kevin also co-owns Ignite, an activation marketing firm based in London that, under Kevin’s leadership, has expanded to become a global service provider. Kevin is a member of the board of directors for a variety of environmental organizations including The Alliance for Climate Protection and Global Water Challenge. He also serves on the advisory board or is an investor in several environmentally focused companies, including Gridpoint, Greenwave Reality, and Veggie Grill. He has been recognized for his commitment to environmental issues as a recipient of the MIDEM Green Award, Billboard Touring Conference Humanitarian Award, GQ Environmental Pillar Award, Environmental Media Association Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
