Since joining Sterling Partners in 1987, Mr Elfman has been involved in all of the firm’s buyout transactions and has played a key role in the acquisition and sale of many portfolio companies. Rick has also been responsible for the oversight of portfolio company operations. In this capacity, he has worked closely with CEOs, particularly in the implementation of best practices and the establishment and analysis of key operating metrics. Mr Elfman has been a director of numerous portfolio companies. Prior to joining Sterling Capital Partners, he worked in institutional sales at Goldman Sachs. He also owned and operated a chain of pharmacies in the Boston area. He founded the Little Elves, one of the largest nostalgia businesses in New England, which he sold in 1980. Mr Elfman serves on the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. Mr Elfman received a BA in economics and political science from Tufts University and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.
