Michael Choukas joined The Watermill Group in January, 2011 as Partner. Mr. Choukas has over 25 years experience in executive leadership and has been a strategic innovator in the clinical research healthcare industry for over 15 years. Mr. Choukas is working concurrently as a Partner and Director at PCD Partners, a healthcare management and consulting firm which offers strategic, management and quality systems and services to healthcare providers and systems. Previously, Mr. Choukas served as President and CEO of Oncopartners, a Latin American oncology development services company, which he founded in 2006. Prior to his work with Oncopartners, Mr. Choukas was a member of the leadership team for United Biosource Corporation (UBC) where he served as Executive Chairman of the Late Stage Group and Executive Vice President of Strategy and Operations from 2004 to 2006. In 1996, he founded Scirex Corporation, a pioneer in providing complementary site and trials management services with a focus on analgesic and CNS development; he then served as Chairman and Chief Executive officer from 1996 to 2003. Mr. Choukas previously held senior leadership positions as Chairman and CEO of Springborn Laboratories (now STR NYSE), Executive Vice President of Dun and Bradstreet Software and Services, and as a Partner at Bain & Company, where he contributed to the leadership of Bain’s software and M&A practice areas. Mr. Choukas began his career serving on the staff of the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and then as Legislative Director for US Senator Patrick Leahy. Mr. Choukas currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Vermont Academy and as a member of the Alumni Council of Dartmouth College. Mr. Choukas holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.
