Has 21 years prior experience of Venture Capital with 3i, investing in the UK, mainland Europe, the US and Israel. During this time gained a reputation as a thought leader and innovator, investing in a wide range of technology companies across a variety of sectors. Was, for example, the founding MD of Silicon Valley operation and for many years was on the management committee of venture capital operation. Started his career as a research engineer at GEC and as a technical consultant for Marconi Space Systems. Current Chairman of the European Venture Capital Association's Venture Capital Committee, and a member of the EVCA executive committee. PhD in electronic engineering and a First Class Honours degree in electronic & electrical engineering from UCL.
