Peter Kleinhenz

Bio

Peter Kleinhenz is a Venture Partner at Fletcher Spaght Ventures. He has been actively involved in technology-based businesses as an entrepreneur, consultant and investor for over 25 years and in the life sciences sector for over 20 years. Peter joined FSV in 2009 to lead our Ohio office. Since 2001, Peter has been employed by CID Capital, where he is a managing director; he continues to split his working time between FSV and CID Capital. Prior to joining CID Capital, Peter served as VP of Commercialization– Life Sciences for Battelle Memorial Institute, working in the medical device, pharmaceutical product and toxicology sectors. Previously he served as a consultant to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Battelle, and a variety of life science start-ups, assisting in developing business plans and raising seed and venture capital. He was CEO and owner of Progenics, a product development and pilot manufacturing company for medical products and industrial controls, which he sold in 1997. Peter was the second employee of Neoprobe, a biotech and medical device company focused on cancer, and served in a variety of senior executive positions including CFO, VP of Manufacturing, and VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development. Prior to this, he was an Investment Analyst with the Thomas Edison Program, Ohio Department of Development where he specialized in pre seed and seed stage company financings. Peter is a Board member or observer for AxioMed Spine, EKOS, Celleration, RedPath and MedVantx. Since 1991 Peter has been a board member of Ohio’s life science organization, BioOhio, and is currently the Chairman and a member of the Executive Committee. He is also a founding member and Board member of the MidAmerica Health Investment Network (MHIN) and serves as the Chairman of the annual MHIN MidAmerica Healthcare Venture Forum. He is on the Visiting Committee at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University Peter received an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, a bachelor's degree in from Loyola University of Chicago, and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status) in Ohio.
