Bio

Rajan Singh joined NSR in August 2009. Previously he was a consultant with McKinsey, where he focused on financial services and healthcare sectors. He also played a key role in authoring McKinsey's report on the U.S. credit crisis and its impact on the financial sector. Prior to this, he served as an Indian Police Service officer in Kerala. He was the Police Commissioner of Trivandrum City, leading a 3,500 strong police force. He partnered with IIITMK (a leading academic institution) to commission an e-governance portal to improve service delivery. He also developed a new computerized crime information system for collection and analysis of crime information leading to a manifold increase in availability of crime data. Rajan received his MBA from The Wharton School, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, an academic distinction awarded to top 5% of the MBA class. He also received the Emerging Economy Fellowship and Wharton MBA Fellowship. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He is a recipient of the Fogarty Grant of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University for launching a novel initiative to rehabilitate drug users in partnership with health workers and community volunteers.
