Bio
Rick Segal is an Investment Committee member of Rethink Impact and a Managing Partner of Rethink Education. Beyond Rick’s leadership at Rethink, he is Founder and Chairman of Seavest Investment Group and has served on a number of public and private boards of directors, including education-related portfolio companies: Wireless Generation (acquired by News Corp. for $400 million) and SchoolNet (acquired by Pearson for $230 million), where he was Chairman of the Board. In 1976, Rick joined Cramer Rosenthal & McGlynn, a New York-based investment management firm, where he became a partner in 1979. Rick is deeply committed to creating better communities through his philanthropic engagements that are primarily focused on health, education, providing opportunities for low-income children, and the arts. Rick serves on the Board of Trustees of New York Presbyterian Hospital where he is a member of the Investment Committee, and is a Trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art, serving on the Finance Committee. He is also President of the A.L. Mailman Family Foundation, a charitable foundation focused on early childhood care and education. Rick is Founding Chairman Emeritus of Public Color, Inc., a not-for-profit arts and education institution serving the needs of the most challenged New York City public schools, and a former Trustee of Nova Southeastern University and Rye Country Day School.
