Bio

Mr Robert Tomei founded and is CEO of Advanced Capital. He is responsible for the approval of every Group investment, for evaluation and investments in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Secondary and Debt Strategy partnerships. Some of his investments include partnerships such NEA, Accel, Blackstone, BC Partners, Whitney, Summit, Sprout, Thoma Cressey, Bay and Matlin Patterson. Robert Tomei is also responsible for the partnership with Paul Capital for the acquisition of portfolios in private equity funds and of industrial participations. He is responsible for the partnership between Advanced Capital and Guggenheim Partners for wealth management of large estates. He is presently also following some Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to AC, he worked for various years at Merril Lynch International as an advisor on alternative investments and private placements. He began his career in the financial industry in New York in 1993 at Kidder Peabody International's Department of Fixed Income as institutional advisor on structured finance, before transfering to London for the same company. Mr Tomei is a member of CFA Institute and is Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation. He has a NASD Series 7 and 3 and is a Registered Representative of the British Securities and Futures Authority (now FSA). He is a Board member of various museums and is Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation, Trustee of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, member of: the Tate International Council, Contemporary Arts Council of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York, the Commettee of Friends of the Rivoli Castle, the Italian Commettee of the Friends of the Jerusalem Museum, and a Founding Trustee of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Art Foundation in Turin. Mr Tomei received his degree ad honorem in Logic and Analytical Studies from St Bonaventure University and pursued his graduate studies in the same fields at both Yale and Columbia Universities.
