Bio

Robert Lorenzini began his career as an engineer at Raytheon Semiconductor where he became manager of the Materials Engineering Group. In 1969, Lorenzini founded Siltec Corporation, the first company to manufacture three inch diameter, zero-dislocation silicon crystals for integrated circuit use. In 1988, Lorenzini co-founded SunPower Corporation, along with Dr. Richard Swanson, where they developed a unique back-side contact, high efficiency solar cell capable of being mass produced at low cost. Lorenzini is an active private investor. He is the Co-Founder of the “Band of Angels” investment group, has served as a Director and Chairman for various startup businesses spanning 35 years in Silicon Valley, and is the recipient of the prestigious SEMI award for his pioneering work in the field of silicon crystal growth. Lorenzini received both his BS and MS degrees in Material Science from Stanford University.
