Starting in the industry in 1984, Sam has been a highly successful general partner for over 30 years, serving as a general partner at Institutional Venture Partners prior to founding Versant. In 2010, the National Venture Capital Association recognized Sam with the Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging all that Sam has done to promote healthcare venture capital. Sam continues to be a highly active advisor to Versant, leveraging his deep network and expertise to provide critical input on new investments.
