Sanjeev Chachondia

Bio

Sanjeev Chachondia joins New Silk Route as Operating Partner and is based out of Mumbai. He has extensive experience in India's growing telecom sector, having led Loop Mobile India Limited (formerly known as BPL Mobile Communications Limited) as Director & Chief Executive Officer. He also held additional responsibility as Chief Executive Officer of Loop Telecom Pvt. Limited (a subsidiary of Loop Mobile India Limited). Between 2006 and early 2008, he was Chief Operations Officer, Essar Telecom Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. He spent over five years with the Tata Group and was Vice President, Corporate Planning & Strategy, Tata Teleservices Ltd. He also led the group's broadband services as General Manager, Broadband for The Tata Power Company Ltd. Between 1997 and 2001, he was with BPL Telecom Business Group, responsible for Planning, Strategy and Western Region business of BPL Mobile and BPL Broadband. In 1989, he joined the Indian Railway Service (IRSSE) and became Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer, Mumbai Division, Central Railway. Sanjeev received his Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electronics and Telecommunications) from the Government College of Engineering, Jabalpur, India and his Master of Management, from School of Management, IIT Bombay.
