Bio
Stephen joined SVLS in 2011 and is a healthcare information technology industry veteran with a track record of driving growth, market leadership and value creation. Before joining SVLS Stephen was the chief executive officer, president and chairman of AMICAS. Under his leadership and guidance, AMICAS became one of the largest and most successful providers of image and information management solutions in the healthcare market. Prior to AMICAS, Stephen helped orchestrate the spin-off of PracticeWorks to shareholders of InfoCure. PracticeWorks was acquired by Kodak for over $500M in cash. The remaining entity, VitalWorks, became a leading provider of healthcare information management technology including practice management and electronic medical record software for physician office practices, hospitals, imaging centers and other healthcare provider organizations. Stephen served as chief strategy officer and vice chairman of the board of directors at VitalWorks. Stephen holds an M.S. in computer science from the Johns Hopkins University and an M.D. from Emory University.
