Bio

Tanaka J.J. Maswoswe is a Senior Associate focused on U.S. buyout opportunities in the industrial and transportation sectors. Mr. Maswoswe is based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Carlyle Mr. Maswoswe was the inaugural Toigo Private Equity MBA Fellow at Carlyle. During this Fellowship, he completed a year-long rotation through Carlyle’s U.S. buyout group, a Carlyle portfolio company, and the Alternative Investment Management team at CalPERS. Prior to business school, he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Diversified Industrials Group at Barclays Capital. He also spent a summer during business school at GreatPoint Ventures, a venture development firm based in Cambridge, MA. Mr. Maswoswe received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics from Yale University.
