Thomas F. Secunda is the global head of Bloomberg’s Financial Products and Services, serves on the board of directors, and is one of the founding partners of Bloomberg L.P., which was established in 1981. He was named Vice Chairman in August 2011. As head of the company’s financial products and services, Secunda oversees a global staff of more than 6,000 including 3,000 technologists in Bloomberg’s Technology Research & Development unit. He manages its largest business and core product-- the Bloomberg Professional service, which is the world’s most trusted source for real-time and historical pricing, indicative data, reporting, research, estimates and analytics. The Service also includes Bloomberg Alpha portfolio management tools, order management systems, multimedia events and electronic communications in a single integrated solution. Secunda also oversees Bloomberg Solutions such as Tradebook, Enterprise Technology Solutions, Data Solutions and Trading Systems. Sales of the Bloomberg Professional service reached an all-time-record high of more than 287,500 subscriptions in November 2010. The business also launched several financial technology innovations including Launchpad 2010, a leading user interface; a new credit analysis tool that generates independent evaluations of a company’s credit health and a new valuation service for over-the-counter derivatives. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he was a fixed-income trader at Morgan Stanley and was in systems research at Salomon Brothers, working alongside Michael R. Bloomberg. He serves on the boards of directors of the National Parks Conservation Association, Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Board and the Intrepid Museum Foundation. Secunda holds a B.S. and M.S. in mathematics from SUNY Binghamton.
