Tim Wright

Bio

Tim joined Compass Partners as a Partner in 2008. His responsibilities include fundraising, sourcing, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, financing and refinancing investments in Fund II. Tim has 18 years private equity experience, starting at Apax Partners in 1989, Tim left Apax as a Director in 2003 to join Vision Capital as a Managing Director through 2006. Prior to beginning his private equity career, Tim was a consultant with Bain and a Field Engineer with Schlumberger. At Vision Capital, Tim executed secondary portfolio transactions including Cabot Square Capital and AEA, and was extensively involved with the exit of the Morgan Grenfell portfolio. Tim’s principal responsibility at Apax was mid-market European buyouts. During Tim’s career at Apax and Vision he deployed over €550 million in 17 deals across all stages of development and industry sectors resulting in a return of over 2x money. Tim holds a 1st class BSc (Hons) in Mining Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
