Will Matthews

Bio

Will Matthews joined NCP in 2009, adding twenty years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing and investment management in privately-owned and publicly-traded companies to the NCP team. Prior to NCP, Will served as EVP and CFO at Alabama National BanCorporation (and its predecessor companies) from 1991 through the company's sale in 2008 to RBC. During their tenure at Alabama National, the management team completed 18 acquisitions and grew the company from a privately-owned bank with $350 million in assets to a publicly traded entity with total assets of over $8 billion. Employment grew by over 1,500 associates during this time. In addition to his CFO duties, Will had management responsibility for several operating divisions including the company's wealth management division, its fixed income investment division and its real estate capital markets division. He chaired the management risk oversight committee, the asset-liability committee and served on the boards of several subsidiary companies. In 2008, the management and board led the sale of the company to Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE: RY) for $1.6 billion. Subsequent to the sale, Will served as CFO for the $32 billion RBC Bank (USA) until he joined NCP. Will earned an AB in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
