Bio

Adam Glinsman is the Managing Partner of Cantab Capital Partners, the Cambridge-based systematic global macro hedge fund. Adam spent fifteen years in senior roles in the capital markets with Nomura, CJ Lawrence, Schroders and Lehman, with a primary focus on equities. After a sabbatical break from the industry to complete an MPhil at Cambridge University, in August 2003 Adam re-joined his ex-Schroders colleague, Sir Paul Ruddock, as COO and Partner at Lansdowne Partners, the fundamental equity long/short Hedge Fund firm which Paul had founded in 1998. Together with Paul, Adam oversaw all non-investment activity, from raising capital to business management, to enterprise level risk. During his time as COO and member of the Management Committee, the firm grew several fold from $2bn in AUM and 20 employees to become Europe’s largest fundamental equity hedge fund group by assets, with best-in-class reputation for both fund performance and operational excellence. After retiring from Lansdowne in 2009, Adam was actively involved in several advisory roles inside and outside of the hedge fund industry. The flagship Lansdowne Developed Markets Fund retained him as a consultant with a focus on their investments emanating from the commercialisation of UK university intellectual property. In parallel, Adam was involved at a very early stage in advising on the evolution of Cambridge University’s own IP commercialisation program, culminating in the establishment of Cambridge Innovation Capital. Adam has a BSc (Econ.) with First Class Honours from the London School of Economics and an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge University.
