Bio

Boris joined Lumia Capital as a Venture Partner and focuses on investment opportunities in wireless and Internet infrastructure and cloud and platform services. Boris has been an entrepreneur, operator, and investor in the wireless, mobile, and Internet sectors for 14 years. Previously, Boris was also a Special Advisor to Madison Dearborn Partners on mid-market growth and buy-out opportunities in the telecom, media, and technology sector. Boris also helped start and grow Mobile Satellite Ventures, working as Vice President of Corporate Development and Technology Strategy to develop the company into two multi-billion dollar, nationwide 4G operations–ultimately exiting to Harbinger Capital (now Ligado Networks) and to Dish Networks (through Terrestar). Boris was also founder / CEO of NearVerse, a company that pioneered use of device-to-device wireless networking to achieve 5-10x faster wireless Internet delivery and 5-10x more accurate location ID capability, and also launched LoKast as a mobile, proximity-based, social network. Boris also helped grow Cidera, the first streaming media content distribution network with $137 million in funding. Boris previously worked at PRTM (now PWC) as a strategy consultant to companies including Navipath, InfoLibria, BCE Emergis, and spent time in private equity and investment banking. Boris graduated from the Management & Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees from the Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Boris currently holds three patents as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.
