Marianne Økland

Bio

Has spent most of her career in investment banking dealing with capital raising and structuring in various positions at JP Morgan (10 years) and UBS (5 years). Although spending the majority of her time in the Capital Market division focusing on Nordic banks and corporates she has also been responsible for debt origination in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa as well as the Specialty Finance Sector (Asset Managers etc). Has led deals for nearly all the large Nordic banks and insurance companies and worked on a number of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the area. Prior to her banking career, ran the European operation of Marsoft, a Boston, Oslo and London based consulting firm advising large shipping, banks, oil and raw material companies on their shipping strategy and investments. MSc degree in Finance and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration where she worked as a researcher and taught mathematics and statistics.
