Thomas Gieselmann is a co-founder and General Partner of e.ventures. He currently serves on the board of NGINX, Playhaven, Pulse News (Alphonsolabs) and Gamersfirst. Tom’s specialties are technology driven startups at the cross-section of consumer Internet and its underlying software. Within this data-driven industry Tom has created a unique way of deal sourcing, using large amounts of data on user streams, startup growth rates and viral attention of Internet and mobile startups. At the age of 14, Thomas founded his first media company, specializing in publishing shopping guides and marketing distribution, which he successfully sold. Thomas started his career building Europe’s first multimedia online service. As part of the initial team behind AOL Europe, a joint venture between America Online and Bertelsmann, Europe’s largest media company, Thomas started and developed the aol.de portal.
